TranWare Enterprise Taxi Meter Integration

TranWare Enterprise can be integrated to your vehicle taxi meters, if your TranWare system is equipped with either the TranAir Mobile Phone Dispatch Software, or TranMDT options.

Taxi Meter Cell Phone IntegrationTranAir is an innovative taxi solution that includes automatic dispatch, driver messaging and vehicle tracking at a cost that is much less than traditional digital dispatch taxi systems. If you add the TranWare Credit Card Processing module to your TranAir system, then you will receive the following additional functions:

  1. Fare Pass Through
    Passes the fare of completed trips through to TranWare Enterprise, so that the exact amount of the trip fare is automatically inserted into the completed trip record.
  2. Credit Card Processing
    Credit cards may be pre-authorized or authorized automatically, with the approval number sent electronically to the driver’s handset and also inserted into the trip billing record.

TranAir (Mobile Phone Digital Dispatch) is fully integrated to Model 610 and 620 taxi meters from industry leader, Centrodyne. The Model 620 Taxi Meter is equipped with an integrated credit card swipe and receipt printer, all in one small, inexpensive package. The Model 610 is available with an optional card swipe and external Model 160 receipt printer. The meter then plugs into the driver’s Motorola handset which acts as the wireless data modem to send and receive the electronic credit card processing information over the air. Most, if not all Motorola handset models are supported on Nextel, Telus and Southern Linc cellular systems.

TranAir™ now also supports Pulsar Taxi Meters that are equipped with credit card swipe, receipt printer and communications port, such as the Pulsar 2030R.

If you have existing Centrodyne or Pulsar meters, it may be possible to upgrade them by adding the card swipe, printer and Motorola phone cable.

TranMDT™ Meter Integration

Taxi Meter MDT IntegrationWith TranMDT, your existing taxi meters can be connected to your MDT’s (Mobile Data Terminals) to allow the following benefits:

  1. Fare Pass Through
    (Specific MDT models only) - Passes the fare of completed trips through to TranWare Enterprise, so that the exact amount of the trip fare is automatically inserted into the completed trip record
  2. Credit Card Processing
    If the MDT is equipped with card swipe and your TranWare system has the optional TranWare Credit Card Processing Module, then credit cards may be pre-authorized or authorized automatically, with the approval number sent electronically to the driver and inserted into the trip billing record.
  3. Flag On/Off
    When the Taxi Meter is turned on (Flag Down) the trip record in the TranWare Dispatch Screen will be automatically marked as LOADED. When the Taxi Meter is turned off (Flag Up) the trip record in the TranWare Dispatch Screen will be automatically marked as COMPLETE. This feature prevents the driver from picking up Flags without advising Dispatch. It also saves the driver from having to update the trip status manually on the MDT.

TranMDT supports mobile data terminals from leading manufacturers, including Mentor Engineering, DDS (Digital Dispatch Systems) Mobile Knowledge, King Communications and CES.
