TranWare Enterprise Credit Card Processing
TranWare Enterprise is available with an optional Credit Card Processing Module that automates card processing from each vehicle. Credit card transactions can be electronically completed by drivers equipped with either TranAir (Wireless Phones) or TranMDT (Mobile Data Terminals).
TranAir™ Credit Card Processing
TranAir is a revolutionary automatic dispatch system that uses low cost wireless phones equipped with a packet data plan from Nextel, Telus or Southern Linc. The wireless phone can also be used to process credit card transactions, using 2 different methods:
-
By using a Centrodyne Model 620 taxi meter, which has integrated card swipe and a receipt printer. The meter is plugged directly into the wireless phone (such as an i355) so that the card swipe, fare information and printer can use the packet data capability of the phone and interface to the TranAir software application on the phone. To process a credit card pre-authorization or authorization, the driver simply selects the function on the TranAir menu, then swipes the card and enters the amount desired. Within a few seconds, the approval number is sent to the phone and a receipt can be printed for the passenger and another for the driver.
-
If the car does not have a Centrodyne Model 620 Meter, the driver can simply enter the card number and expiry date directly into the handset and the authorization number will be sent back to the handset in a few seconds. If the driver wants to get a customer signature and provide a receipt, he can use a knuckle buster with a standard credit card form and write the authorization number on it and have the customer sign it.
TranMDT™ Credit Card Processing
TranMDT™ is an automatic dispatch solution that uses Mobile Data Terminals mounted in the vehicle. Most MDT’s are available with a card swipe, which will operate with TranMDT and the TranWare Credit Card Processing Module. The driver swipes the card and selects whether he wants to pre-authorize or authorize the card, enters the amount through the MDT keypad. A few seconds later, the authorization number is sent to the MDT.
