iTRAKpro Fixed-In Vehicle Tracking System

The iTRAKpro consists of the latest generation of iTRAK® intelligent GPS interface modules and a WAAS enabled GPS receiver. Combined with a wireless packet data modem, iTRAKpro provides a high performance, fixed-in-vehicle tracking solution. The iTRAKpro has been engineered to work with a carefully tested selection of wireless modems on virtually all modern cellular packet data networks, including iDEN, GPRS, CDPD and  CDMA 1X. 

The primary benefits of the iTRAKpro versus the iTRAKjava are as follows:

The iTRAKpro incorporates a great deal of flexibility and can be programmed to utilize either Time or Distance based reporting. This eliminates redundant position messages, reducing the number of position packets being broadcast over the network, thus reducing airtime costs. The iTRAKpro can report positions in real time while in coverage or periodically connect and report positions based on set time intervals.

In addition, the iTRAKpro provides "store and forward" tracking, so that while out of coverage it can store up to 2000 position reports, then automatically update iTRAK Fleet Manager™ when coverage is restored. The unit also supports remote configuration and polling, depending on the wireless network.

The unit allows fleet managers to remotely monitor and/or control vehicle functions, such as Driver Emergency, Door Open, PTO On/Off, Remote Vehicle Kill, Remote Door Unlock, etc.

Having been engineered with a variety of high quality packet data modems gives Fleet Manager's freedom of choice in selecting the wireless network that best serves their requirements, based on coverage requirements, rate plans, data speed and other factors. As each compatible wireless modem is priced differently, the chosen network will determine the price of the product. In addition, the chosen network and the desired frequency of position reports will determine the monthly data charges from the wireless carrier.

Once the most appropriate version of the iTRAKpro and the required data plan have been selected, it is a simple matter of purchasing the iTRAKpro, activating it on the wireless network and subscribing to the iTRAK Fleet Manager™ mapping service.

iTRAKpro with WAAS Improves Accuracy with iFM Service

The iTRAKpro location device utilizes WAAS technology to report mobile locations to the iFM web site with an improved accuracy of less than three metres. WAAS stands for Wide Area Augmentation System, which improves position accuracy, using correction data from the WAAS system.  The iTRAKpro consists of a WAAS enabled GPS receiver and an interface module (called the iModule™) that integrates iTRAK® with a wireless modem.
