iTRAK Fleet Finder™ for Blackberry
iTRAK FleetFinder™is an exciting new companion product that allows fleet managers to view the real-time location and status of their vehicle fleet directly from their Blackberry device!
For example, Jim owns a contracting company that tracks its field personnel, using iDEN (Motorola phones with Direct Connect) phones equipped with iTRAKjava. Normally, Jim views and manages his fleet over the internet from his office and home computers, using iTRAK Fleet Manager (iFM), an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) application available online.
However, when Jim is not near a PC, he uses iTRAK FleetFinder on his Blackberry to locate and manage his fleet, with very similar features to iFM.
With a simple push of the Trackwheel, Jim can pull up the current address, speed and heading of each of his vehicles. FleetFinder will also indicate vehicles that are stopped, showing their stop duration and address.
An additional push of the Trackwheel on his Blackberry will pull up a color map, showing the live location of any particular vehicle at street level with direction of travel. Any combination of vehicles equipped with iTRAKpro devices and phones equipped with iTRAKjava can be monitored.
Applications
iTRAK FleetFinder™ is an ideal solution for fleet managers that want to maintain visibility of their fleet while they are on the go themselves. iTRAK FleetFinder™ is an appropriate management tool in the public safety markets, such as police, fire, ambulance, as well as for remote fleet supervision personnel, such as armoured car, security and many types of service organization. It would also be a major asset to organized sporting events, allowing race officials to remotely monitor athletes who are equipped with iTRAKjava™ handsets.
FleetFinder can also be used to generate a quick report on any vehicle, showing today's position count, over-speed count, geo-fence count, total number of stops, number of positions reported and other pertinent factors. Fleet Managers that are familar with iFM's unique Fleet Status Window will appreciate how FleetFinder™ duplicates this function, displaying the list of vehicles in a condensed spreadsheet format to provide a snapshot of the fleet's current status. Simply press the trackball on a vehicle in the list to see the menu.
Once you have selected a specific vehicle from the list, pressing Last Location will provide the last know location, speed and heading of that vehicle. At any time, you may also choose to view the vehicle's last known location on a street level color map, as shown above. Blackberry devices running iTRAK FleetFinder™ may also run iTRAKjava™ at the same time if desired, allowing supervisory personnel to be tracked at the office on iFM at the same time as they are tracking the fleet themselves.
