The Piccolo-AT™ is the industry’s most advanced asset and trailer tracking solution. With its tiny size, waterproof enclosure and integrated antennas, the Piccolo-AT is a completely self contained tracking unit that can be installed in only a few minutes. The Piccolo-AT is available with an internal power source that can last up to 5 years without external power, making it ideal for tracking trailers or other equipment assets. An internal motion detector allows the GPS receiver and wireless data modem to be powered down completely and awakened only when motion is detected.

The Piccolo is available in several configurations, so that you only need to pay for the capabilities required. In its simplest form, the unit provides automatic vehicle location capability in a single device that includes both an internal GPS receiver and packet data modem. You may then add on digital and analog inputs for monitoring vehicle parameters such as Trailer-Tether, PTO On, Door Open, Driver Emergency, Engine On, Engine temperature, etc. A digital output is also available for remote door unlock, starter kill, etc.

Installation Simplicity

For asset or trailer tracking applications, the Piccolo is unmatched for installation simplicity, as it can be completely self-powered, with the ability to last up to 5 years without any external power, due to its integrated standard "C" size batteries and ultra low current drain. In this configuration, the unit incorporates a motion detector that dramatically reduces current consumption. Once motion is detected, the GPS and modem features come alive and will report that the vehicle has commenced moving. It then resumes its pre-defined reporting characteristics.

Contributing further to its diminutive stature, the Piccolo can be ordered with both the GPS and data modem antennas completely integrated. Simply use double sided tape or velcro and your installation is complete! The waterproof enclosure allows external mounting on a trailer or other valuable asset. For trailer applications, you may use one of the inputs to automatically send out an email alert when the trailer is tethered or untethered from the tractor unit.

Combining the Piccolo with our companion mapping application, Fleet.NET™ makes a highly cost effective AVL platform that can be used as an enterprise application. (The mapping solution is installed on your own server and your organization owns and controls the software license and all user access, features, etc.) Fleet.NET's versatility also allows other configurations, such as Windows Terminal Server, to accommodate situations where a company may want a single host mapping application to be accessed from multiple offices or cities. Web based (ASP) mapping solutions are also available.

If you already have a mapping solution bundled with your own host application, the Piccolo can be packaged with our MidLink™ middleware solution to interface via standard API's to your AVL/dispatch solution.
