The Complete Solution for Mobile Work Groups

It's innovative, it's versatile, it's flexible... yet it's scalable, so you don't have to pay for what you don't use.

CommVision2020 GPS Black BoxThe C2020™ is the industry’s most advanced and versatile fixed in-vehicle GPS tracking solution yet. It’s scalability means you never pay for functionality you don't use and yet it can continually grow to meet your rising demands.  You can simply start with GPS Tracking, with or without vehicle input/output functionality, and simply "plug & play" add-on peripherals, such as a bar code reader or credit card swipe machine, as you need them.

The C2020™ is a powerful, versatile, rugged, and compact vehicle mounted GPS and wireless data device. In its simplest form, the C2020 GPS link provides automatic vehicle location capability in a single device that includes both an internal GPS receiver and packet data modem, capable of CDMA-1X, GPRS, or iDEN configurations.

For AVL only (automatic vehicle location) applications, the unit is simply installed in a vehicle and subscribed to a packet data service from CDMA-1X, GPRS, or iDEN wireless carrier, such as T-Mobile, Cingular, Verizon, AT&T, Telus, Bell or Rogers. It then communicates the vehicle's position, speed, and heading information through the wireless network to a host computer application.

Combining the C2020 with its companion mapping application, Fleet.NET™ makes a highly cost effective AVL platform that can be used as an enterprise application. (The mapping solution is installed on your own server and your organization owns and controls the software license and all user access, features, etc.) Fleet.NET's versatility also allows other configurations, such as Windows Terminal Server, to accommodate situations where a company may want a single host mapping application to be accessed from multiple offices or cities. Web based (ASP) mapping solutions are also available.

Empowering the Mobile Workforce

Because the C2020 has external RS 232 port and also (optional) Bluetooth connectivity, you can connect to the C2020 to any PocketPC, card swipe machine, or bar code reader. The C2020 comes packaged with the industries most advanced wireless middleware, MidLink™that is designed for simple integration to third party software and mapping, via a TCP/IP or ActiveX interface.

In Car Computer

Because the C2020 may be used as an in-car wireless router, you can empower your fleet with mobile navigation by utilizing the C2020's GPS capability and wireless connectivity. For companies that already have in-vehicle computers and want to add GPS tracking to their fleet management solution, the mobile navigation solution is simply an added bonus. All you need to do is purchase a third party mobile navigation application for your fleet.

For industrial and commercial applications where it is desirable to monitor something external on the vehicle, such as engine or reefer temperature, emergency driver alert, vehicle PTO, or a vehicle security system, the C2020 has several sensor inputs. A digital output is also included that allows something to be remotely turned on or off in the vehicle from the host software. For example, it could be used to remotely disable the vehicle ignition in the event it was stolen.

For example, the unit could be used in a taxi or towing application, providing wireless dispatch through an attached PocketPC, Bluetooth credit card swipe, GPS for automatic vehicle location, and alarm inputs for driver safety in emergency situations.

If you don't already have a mapping solution bundled with your host application, the C2020 can be packaged with our Fleet.NET™ management solution and be interfaced via standard API's to your dispatch solution.
