TranCard™ Mobile Credit Card Processing Released

Future Quest Wireless and TranWare, Inc., co-developers of the revolutionary TranAir™ digital dispatch system for taxi and paratransit companies, are pleased to announce the release of a new stand-alone mobile credit card processing service, called TranCard™. TranCard™ is essentially a scaled down version of TranAir™ that allows any type of service organization with a field workforce to process credit cards in each of their vehicles, using Nextel type cellular phones as the wireless data device. In addition to in-vehicle credit card processing, TranCard™ may be ordered with an optional live vehicle tracking module, called TranTrac™.
TranCard™ leverages the widespread availability of low-cost cellular phones, particularly Motorola's popular series of Direct Connect phones used extensively in North America on wireless networks such as Sprint/Nextel. A broad array of service organizations already use these phones for voice communications, making the leap to in-vehicle credit card processing with or without vehicle tracking very cost effective. TranCard™ can process credit cards two different ways: For taxi companies, TranCard™ is fully integrated with Centrodyne and Pulsar taxi meters equipped with a credit card swipe and receipt printer. For other types of mobile organizations, TranCard™ can process credit cards simply by having the driver enter the card number, expiry date and amount directly into the Motorola handset, using the TranCard™ menu. A credit card approval or denial code is sent to the phone display within a few seconds.
Explaining the significance and value of the product, Future Quest President, Gord Walsh states: "In-vehicle credit card processing is becoming a necessity for many organizations with a mobile workforce. There are many offerings out there, however they typically involve high monthly per vehicle fees in addition to the monthly cost of mobile data, not to mention the capital cost of wireless modems, etc. TranCard™ will appeal to companies that already utilize Nextel type Direct Connect handsets, which remain the popular choice for voice communications in small to medium sized fleets. The incremental cost to add a data plan to these phones is very reasonable. We also offer an excellent migration path that ranges from adding on vehicle tracking with TranTrac™ to full blown digital dispatch with TranAir™.
