Data Burst Technologies, manufacturers of the highly acclaimed iTRAK GPS products and principal developers and owners of NavView™, an Internet based GPS fleet tracking provider, entered the Canadian marketplace today with their announcement of a Canadian Master Distributor agreement with Future Quest Wireless Inc.
Originally formed as a mobile data research and development company in 1995, DBT is a leading provider of B2B wireless location services via the Internet. The DBT solution consists of 2 primary components that combine to optimize customer service and the efficiency of fleet operators, while enhancing the safety of their mobile workers. The first such component is the innovative iTRAK™ GPS device, which uses a highly proven, ruggedized GPS platform with an on-board proprietary microprocessor that allows highly configurable position reporting to take place over standard low-cost wireless handsets on a plug and play basis. Position reports are then sent to the second component of the system, an Internet based ASP portal called NavView™. This service allows fleet operators to monitor the movement and activities of their vehicles on digital maps on a real-time basis, without having to purchase, install and maintain complicated software.
"The NavView solution," stated DBT President Tom Grounds, "has been very well received by a wide range of service related industries throughout the United States. NavView simplifies the provisioning of sophisticated AVL functionality for our customers, allowing them to preserve capital and maintain focus on serving the needs of their own customers. In many cases, our customers are able to leverage their existing investment in wireless phones to bring in a whole new set of benefits they didn't even realize were available. We are pleased to bring this product to the Canadian marketplace through our relationship with Future Quest, who have the knowledge and ability to duplicate our success in the US."
"We are very enthusiastic about the potential of this product," comments Future Quest President Gord Walsh. "The DBT solution promises to be well received by Canadian fleet managers and wireless dealers in our opinion, as it takes full advantage of the power and utility of the latest available technology, including packet data networks , data ready wireless handsets and of course, the Internet."
Implementing the DBT system is a straight forward proposition for fleet managers. Each vehicle they wish to monitor is equipped with the unobtrusive iTRAKT device, which is purchased on a one-time, low-cost basis. The unit then plugs into a wireless phone or modem which has been activated on a data airtime package with a cellular carrier. Finally, a monthly subscription to NavView is activated that provides unlimited position reports and a host of other user selected features.
Future Quest specializes in the provisioning of turnkey fleet management systems and wireless data applications to service organizations who serve the needs of their customers through a field workforce.
